Nalita Ray, a 43-year-old housewife from Ambari village, supports a family of four members. Despite her limited income, she navigated the challenges of rural life. The intervention of The Goat Trust (TGT) marked a turning point for Nalita. Through comprehensive training, she acquired knowledge about producing innovative input products, including Pashudana, Neem Oil, Pachmola, and Masala Bolus. These products aimed to enhance growth, overall health, and immunity in goats. Nalita’s newfound expertise empowered her to share her products with other goat farmers in her village, promoting widespread adoption and community-driven change.
Nalita’s efforts yielded remarkable results. The use of her input products significantly reduced mortality rates, improved livestock health, and increased the goat population. Economically, Nalita achieved self-sufficiency, improving her financial situation and inspiring other women to consider similar entrepreneurial paths. She utilizes the income generated as a revolving fund to maintain her family’s expenses and expand her livestock business.
