Morgina Khatun, a 38-year-old woman from Tamudi ward 9 village, Chamaria Block, was a full-time homemaker before joining The Goat Trust’s (TGT). Her husband, the sole breadwinner of the family, worked as a daily wage laborer, struggling to provide for their family’s needs. Morgina wanted to support her family and ease her husband’s burden by expanding her livestock farming.

Morgina’s life took a turn for the better when she joined TGT’s Udyamini program. After undergoing training and selection, Morgina was chosen as a Livestock Business Counselor (LBC) in her village. With her newfound knowledge and skills, Morgina began conducting meetings with community members, sharing her expertise on scientific livestock rearing practices. She also started conducting health camps, treating sick goats, and vaccinating them. Additionally, Morgina began selling input products like Dana Mishran, Neem oil, and milk replacer, which became popular among local farmers.
Morgina’s involvement with TGT has had a profound impact on her life and the lives of those in her community. She has improved her family’s financial situation and proven her skills in livestock farming. The community respects and appreciates Morgina’s work, and women in her village look up to her as a role model. Morgina’s success has inspired other women to participate in the Udyamini program, promoting women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship in the region. By empowering women like Morgina, TGT is creating a ripple effect of positive change in rural communities. Morgina’s story is a testament to the power of training, support, and entrepreneurship in transforming the lives of rural women and their families.
